I honestly would keep Schmidt cuz he's actually good and plays the right side. If they want to get better they should look at moving Myers. Rathbone is also pretty good so I think keeping him is a good idea.

The forwards r def playoff calibre but the defence isn't too good. Perhaps freeing up Myers to help build the D core would have been a good idea specifically the right side. 6 mil can sign 2 good defenceman

laugh laugh GMs aren't helping Benning out of his cap situation here, There's no freaking way Schmidt and Rathbone returns Noah Dobson. And no one is taking on Holtby without sending a cap dump back to Vancouver right now he has very little value.

Dobson is a top prospect/ young player. Hes a future top pair dman. I know youre kinda pissed that the blues dont have anyone like that but at this point youre just a joke.

There's just no play for the Isles here. Dobson has a higher ceiling than Rathbone and we can get a cheaper and probably better defenseman than Schmidt elsewhere

Lmao one lucky cup and all of the sudden yall think youre the best. Youre obviously not one of his biggest fans if you think its fair to trade him for schmidt and rathbone. But anyway ill enjoy back to back ECFs and 19 consecutive playoff series wins. What do your pathetic blues have on that, im waiting.

It's always good to see how other teams value their players. And to understand another teams cap situation. That's kind of the point of this.

I think there might be some undervaluing of Rathbone here and an assumption that Schmidt is just a cap dump. That doesn't seem to be the case.

Dobson seems like what the Canucks need. A RH D that with top pair upside, but isn't there yet. Schmidt (albeit on a high ticket) and Rathbone could replace or even better what Leddy provided.

I disagree with the fit for NYI based on Dobson’s potential and because NYI have recently been paying to create cap, however I agree with what else you have written about some of Vancouvers players being undervalued.

It’s refreshing to see a mature post with the intent of creating engaging conversation.

Schmidt was moved for a 3rd and didnt do anything last season to convince me to move anything more. At the end of the day he is getting top pair money for a non top pair defensman. As for rathbone, he may be undervalued but hes not in the same league as dobson.
