If that is the cost to acquire Cernak, hard pass.

The bottom 6 is simply not good dnough. Khaira will not be getting a deal more than $1 million, neither should Ryan.

Yamamoto should not get anything over $2 million, should be closer to 1.5 x 2 yrs.

Tampa passes, Cernak's contract isn't an issue. Gourde is gone and Julien BriseBois will move one of Johnson/Killorn/Palat to clear more cap.

You misunderstand the trade. McLeod is the Oilers planned 3C, we brought him from the minors for the playoffs. He is pardon the pun, lightning fast and still on his ELC. Could be a good, cheap long term replacement for Gourde. Bear is an NHL RD RFA a little undersized but maybe a decent replacement for Cernak until Foote is ready. Bear had a great 2019 playing 1RD well for us, in 2020 he had a concussion and lost his job to Tyson Barrie who was killing it scoring wise. Bear's underlying defensive numbers were still better than Barrie's but he had a bit of wobble in his game. There is a huge segment of Oil fans who would be disappointed to see Bear go. But I understand other teams may not value him the same. Stalock is a cheap backup goalie with decent numbers thrown in because you guys need one.

Oil lost our only shutdown RD to the Kraken and we need a replacement. We might be willing to add but this is a good value offer.
