I think he’d likely cost a bit more, but maybe not. The Savard and Kotkaniemi contracts are overpayments.

I don't want Ylonen to be traded. He's one of our only young prospect close to the NHL left, all the others are coming in 2+ years, plus our RW pool is not really deep, I'd rather give a LHD which we have plenty of

Yeah we could. But our RW is okay...Anderson for 6 years,Gally for 6 and Caufield for 10+.
Ylonen is good but you have to pay to recieve and theres not really a place for him short term.
Rather give him than another 2nd

I don't understand why you're signing savard. look at his stats. it goes down year after year.

Im not hiring savard to put up points. Im hiring Savard for him to take 15/22min Weber played each night since he has a similar style of play

weber was number 1. savard is a 6th or 7th defender. in addition, marc staal signed for $ 2m in detroit and he is a little above savard. and you would give him over $ 3,500,000m ??. to replace weber, it takes a defender who can play on the first pair of defense. not savard. I agree that the canadian signs him as 7th defenseman at $ 2m. but the........
