Krug was the only good part about it this past season and Peru isnt playing yet, Scandella is cheeks, and its Mikkola/Walman in that 3rd pair this upcoming year

He shouldn’t have signed Scandella to that contract then. Jake McCabe could be a good free agency option

Tarasenko for Skjei could make some sense for both teams. And the cap isn’t too big of a difference. Skjei is interesting because he was pretty bad until the playoffs.

I think STL best bet would be to target Soucy or Haydn Fleury from SEA. They aren’t bonefide #4 D but they would make it a competition with Scandella for that spot. And I’m not sure they’d be that expensive to get. The other trades listed, most cost quite a bit to get.

Id also like dillon cause he was left unprotected so he may not cost to much and hes cap isnt very different from scandella

I honestly don’t think he’s as bad as other Bruins fans say he is. He’s a decent third pair defenseman who got lost on the depth chart to youth who were given the opportunity to prove themselves. He’s a little overpaid but it’s not a horrible deal

I like Martinez or McCabe in FA. My favorite to acquire would be Lindholm, especially if they would be willing to take Scandella in the deal.

Lindholm is basically the same age as Skjei and Soucy but older than Fleury and he would cost the farm. He’s miles better than Jones and Risto and they went for a ton. Dillon isn’t a bad option. I think Haydn Fleury fits because of his age and what he did when he was given a bigger role with the ducks. He still has room for growth.

Personally, I am fine with the current D. If they want to make a splash then Martinez is available in FA. Let the young guys play. Mikkola can play top 4, Walman and Perunovich can rotate in and out as well.
