Description
The Oilers probably match anyways, but I think it'd be fun to mess with their cap space after they sign Hyman.

Well, tbh if I were the Oil, I'd be happy enough with that and trade the 1st and the 3rd for Travis Konecny, who makes 5.5 and is producing consistently at the levels I hope Yamo ends up at.

Oilers wouldn't match. Yamo will sign a 3 year deal for around 2.25-2.5M per. If you wanna give us those draft picks and pay him 5M per go for it...

Haha foolish Leafs fan. We won't match. We glady take your picks and watch you choke in the 1st round again just like you always do. As someone else stated we could go for Konecny. And you will be stuck paying Yamamoto 5 mil when he should get half of that. You have really screwed yourselves over once again wink

Oilers just got swept by a team that got swept. You guys just gave up assets for a 38 year old d man who was a cap dump just a few months ago, lost your best shutdown dman, and might re-sign Tyson Barrie too. Have fun paying Hyman 5.5 for 8 years.

Oh btw, McDavid is leaving

I'm sorry did you just not watch the Oilers in the playoffs last year and the year before?

Your Oilers have been the exact same as the leafs in the first round since 2018 (we have more appearances btw) but in the first round of the draft clearly we've been much better... And we haven't been in there alot lately.

McDavid has stated he is not going anywhere. He likes where this team is headed with much exciting talent. McLeod, Bouchard, Puljujarvi, Yamamoto, Bear, Holloway, Broberg, Skinner

Was still a part of it. wink Puljujarvi is becoming a part of the core with the ways he is playing aswell. He has been great this season. Nuge should be there aswell. Those are some key guys. I hope Toronto can make the 2nd round this season. Would be sad seeing Matthews and Marner rot away in the biggest hockey market after Montreal(the rival club that just casually made it to the finals)

They got swept by a team that ended up going to the Finals, Scheifele was gone for 3 games(they're not getting swept with him in) Hellebuyck wasn't as good as he was against the Oilers when he faced the Montreal Canadiens but I guess you didn't factor that in? I don't like the Smith contract but let's not get to cocky here. We saw what people said about him last year and how he proved them wrong. If he can give us good goaltending this season I take it. The last year is what it is but if he can play a backup role then with someone else being the starter you can make it work decently. Hyman shows up everygame you should know that as a Leafs fan. 8 years is alot of term but he got the spirit and he is a warrior out there. I like that. As long as we can have something happen that is good.
