Oilers take this deal all day long. Especially with the 1.5M salary retained. We can sign a different 4C at 1M per to fill the hole McLeod left.

I think it's a deal that can work for both sides as the Nucks also need that 4th line C and some cap relief

Schmidt is not waiving for EDM. VAN probably only wants to retain 1.3-1.5 mill max on Holtby.

Did Schmidt publicly say he won't waive for Edmonton or is that your opinion? I haven't heard anything myself.
Holtby is not a hot commodity so Nucks might need to be prepared to eat up to 50%.

Schmidt has a 10 team NTC and some teams in Canada including Winnipeg and Montreal are on his NTC list according to --- Lebrun.

I don't see why he would he want to play and live in EDM.
