I think the holdup personally is I don’t think Buffalo wants any bad money or any veterans with a big salary who will be gone in a year or two. They only want futures.
The problem is, Adams probably won’t be able to move him without taking a big salary back and it will only get harder if he’s still on the roster in the regular season.
The other problem is that Adams cannot take anything less than market value for Eichel. Pegula has pretty much given Adams free reign with no meddling, but that doesn’t mean he isn’t paying attention and unfortunately for Adams, if he moves Eichel for anything less than what he’s worth, he will eventually be fired, and he knows this. On the flip slide, if Bill Guerin or Chris Drury give into the demands and they’re wrong…then there they too will be out of a job
I don’t think Eichel I getting traded and I think he will still be on the roster.
