Swap Comtois for Steel. Kuznetsov is 29 pretty much out of his prime. Ducks wouldn’t pay Comtois for that

Weird take to say 29 is “out of his prime,” but ok. Wouldn’t exactly want to do this trade from the caps side. It makes no sense for us. It makes us worse right now.

Problem is even if he isn’t out of his prime right this second, the time Anaheim contends he will be for sure

Makes absolutely no sense for the Ducks. They wouldn't trade Comtois for Kuzentsov 1-for-1. Comtois is younger, will still be young when the Ducks are good again and he's gonna be a Top 6 LW for years to come. Stupid to give that up for a Center which will only cause cap problems. He'd be an upgrade to Steel, Henrique and Getzlaf but why would they want another big contract for an aging Center? Zegras and McTavish will be the 1-2 punch for years.

Sorry, but this is a horrible trade for the Ducks. They won't give up a core piece for a guy like Kuznetsov. If Comtois were traded, it would only be for a player like Eichel. (But an Eichel trade to Anaheim is very unlikely at this point.)
