Blues decline and its not close. Marner is a good player, but the Blues don't want to add an 11mil winger right now unless they can move equal salary (like the ROR deal). In which case, that includes Tarasenko, Scandella, and something else. In which case, Toronto probably rejects.

Easy decline for the Blues capwise. +4228000. And TOR could not afford Scandella.

Why Flames decline?

Savard very likely will sign with MTL.

Because it's a crap offer that doesn;t address their needs at all?

There isn’t enough there for domi. Just a bunch of stuff. Depth players and a mid pick, prospect who’s meh.

Columbus was willing to lose him for free. The "stuff" is literally just an NHL player replacement and the extras are for the 1 year of retention

It doesn't.

Rielly is the only player in that deal that addresses a gap at the moment but if the price is Tkachuk then we'll gladly look elsewhere. Moreover, Rielly needs an extension that I don't imagine being cheap. Long term it's not a good option for us.

As for the other pieces, I'm sure they're fine players but tossing them all together in one trade feels like a cap dump to me given there's already comparable players on the Flames.

P.S. Please stop trying to trade Kerfoot to us.

No we took a gamble. And won. Seattle didn’t want his cap hit or his injury until December/ January. So no. This isn’t enough.

A gamble?? So you're telling me Columbus would give him away for free to Seattle, but wouldn't accept an NHL 3rd liner, two C level prospects, and a 3rd round pick for just retaining 50%? You realize he is a UFA at the end of next season...

Yes I’m well aware. What you don’t realize is that we knew Seattle wouldn’t take him for the reasons I listed above, which you didn’t read clearly. (Or you forgot). And now at half the cap hit and fully healthy at the time of the trade, no this is not enough. Just because a player was left unprotected doesn’t mean they don’t have value. Does kerfoot not have value? No he does. Seattle just didn’t pick him. If domi was at 2.8 million does Seattle claim him? Every day of the week. I’m done with this line of trade talks.
