Final Moves and We Ride

Created by: Jmorrin
Team: 2021-22 New York Rangers
Initial Creation Date: Jul. 26, 2021
Published: Jul. 26, 2021
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Edler is the perfect stopgap mentor for Nils - two Swedes. If only Schneider were a LD. Going to have to figure that out, maybe move Trouba over.
Only problem with trading for SM is that NYR would have to move someone like Trouba or Kreider (won't be easy) in order to keep Zib long term. Plenty of money for Fox here who I would give $9M extension to tomorrow. Cap dries up quick after that.

I'd agree with you but look around the league at recent deals. #2 C at $4.5M not easy to come by. Which makes you think why don't the Rangers just hold him lol.

He’s not as good as Reinhart and he’s been garbage his entire career except for with Panarin. He’s not a 2C on a good team, which is kind of the whole point NYR sees him as expendable.

yeah but if he's good with panarin.. maybe keep him with panarin? just because someone is good with another players doesn't dilute the fact that they are indeed good with that player. also i dont know why you think he's been garbage his entire career, he's been a solid points producer his entire career, and last year he was a good points producer. The rangers also have the cap space to keep him even with Zibanejad and Eichel as the top 2, and Barron on the 4th line. You're either misinformed or stupid.

As far as I’m aware Ottawa doesn’t have Panarin, and a mid-1st in a strong draft is far more valuable than a rental to the Senators. If he’s a guy that is capable of playing above his personal ability because he has good chemistry with your star player, then that’s great for you, and means absolutely nothing to anybody else, pretty straightforward logic there. I also don’t care about whether you have the cap space to keep him, you’re clearly trying to trade him here so that means nothing to me as well. He’s been a 35 point guy pretty much his entire career prior to the Rangers, with the exception of one season. That’s not worth a 1st round pick, or 4.5mil. Seems like you’re the misinformed one, as you are trying to justify why the Rangers should keep him, which is both completely not the point and perfectly fine with me lmao

Not the point I was making. He’d be 2C on Ottawa because we have a hole there. Valuing him as a good 2C is foolish though.
