2 out of 3 Aint Bad

Team: 2021-22 Buffalo Sabres
Initial Creation Date: Jul. 26, 2021
Published: Jul. 26, 2021
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
The Risto trade was far better than I could imagine

The Reinhart trade was far, far worse than I could imagine.

Hopefully the Eichel trade is at least what we all expected. I went with the Wild because I believe they are the most desperate right now to make this move. I went with Rossi over Boldy because we are beyond desperate for a center prospect.

Vegas trade was both to give us some cap and experience in our line up and also, Vegas needs to shed cap. People can act like they don't all they want, Tuch is the most likely candidate as his contract is pretty hefty and lasts long.

Reimer signs for a 1 year deal, could be flipped at the deadline. We overpay to get him. Gives some stability to the line up. This team will be bad next year but maybe we can make them competitive with a roster like this..

Reilly Smith also has a larger contract without a NTC. Teams also really want goalies so unlikely Tuch gets sold that low. Also they NEED to free up like 1M soooo Carrier and Reaves are not off the table.

Smith is off the books next year. This trade allows them to sign guys for a few years to come. Both goalies have MNTC so they will be harder to move. Tuch is a 3rd line player on Vegas. He does well for them but they have a lot of solid guys like Krebs and Glass waiting in the wings for more ice time.

All reports have been made clear gm Guerin of wild have stood his ground, and will only move one of dumba, and or boldy; not both

LOL How do you expect them to afford Eichel then? They need to trade one of Boldy or Ross, a 2022 1st and cap space. Fiala is a quality player and Rask is a cap dump

Tuch is going to be replacing a top 6 player on Vegas in the very near future. I also wouldn't consider his contract bad.

Smith is off the books which means long term cap relief which you are saying Vegas needs. The goalies have been heavily involved in Vegas trade efforts and seem to be likely for one of them to move.

I agree Vegas has good young players however Glass is no longer one of them.

It is understandable that you want Tuch but he isn't going to be moved for nothing. Vegas showed last year what they will do to stay cap compliant and keep the players they want to keep.
