Devils wouldn't do this. Even if we sign Hamilton, we still need RD. Devils will have Subban, Hamilton, and Severson on the right side in 2021-22. In 2022-23, they'll have Hamilton, Severson, and Walsh. There's no point for the Devils to trade Severson

I would say it’s a fair offer. But I’m sure NJD is very happy to just keep Severson, even if Dougie signed. Cost controlled RHD who can play big minutes are hard to find.

You will still have DeMelo who isn't Severson but would fit well in the 2-3 RHD spot. Copp is a solid 3rd liner that could push for some 2nd line playing time and is an excellent penalty killer. Niku needs a change of scenery.

Again, I absolutely think it’s a good offer. I just wonder if they’d want to trade Severson at all, given his play and cap hit (unless it’s a huge overpay).
But as a Jets fan, he’s exactly the guy that they need

Jets would love to do it, but Severson's deal is sweet...no point in trading him. Maybe they can move SUbban somehow with compensation,

was thinking Subban but he would only be a one year fill in. Also, not quite sure if WPG or many others would trade for him though.

I like the idea of SUbban at as reduced as you can get him, which is 4.5 i guess?

So drop the Severson trade and add Subban ($4.5 retain) and send Beaulieu?

Obviously not any more after the SChmidt deal, but I wouldve done this deal if I were the jets.

I would of done the Subban deal over Schmidt. Schmidt is not cheap but signed too long.
