The Devils just traded for Graves....and they will just wait for Quinn to hit free agency anyway and get him for free in a few years when they are actually in their window.

This is one of the better Quinn Hughes to NJ trades I've seen

Blackwood would probably hate this trade bc the three best defensive assets are getting sent out for a defenseman that isn’t great defensively but the devils would accept that if the first was lottery protected or top 5 protected

VAN is not moving Hughes. Schmidt is not waiving for Winnipeg.

I mean I hate this trade for the Canucks but that's some pretty funny rationale... just wait the quick 6 years. Using that logic why don't the Canucks wait two years and get Graves as UFA.

My head would explode if the Canucks traded their most promising D they've ever had for two B prospects, Avs 4th dman, a 1st and a second.

And on another defensive front, the #NHLJets have/had been trying to make a deal for Nate Schmidt but the latter will not waive his modified no-trade clause despite, what I have been told, is several attempts by the Jets.

I'm just saying I wouldn't want to actually trade for Quinn (to complete the trio) if I am the Devils, I'd rather build around what we have.
