Borgstrom is 23 and will be 24 when the season starts . I don't see what good seasoning him in rockford does. He's played NHL hockey before, he's played AHL hockey before, and just played really well against men in the Liga last year, one of the better leagues that's not the NHL. He's got higher upside than suter for sure

Think money was the issue but probably also the fact colliton was clueless on how to use him. We'll probably see him go on and get 40ish points. While it sucks to see I can sort of understand why they didnt qualify him with Kubaliks contract coming up.

I get that, but I still emphasize that Suter at least proved his NHL potential and skill. Just feels strange to trade an “unproven” boqvist for a “sure thing” Jones just to turn around let Suter go for nothing and trust borgstrom of all players.

As a side note, it’s amazing how stan dissed boqvist but somehow still trusts nylander!!!

I tend to think it's a money issue vs a Colliton issue. Stan would have likely tried to trade his rights if it was an organizational thing. I don't blame anyone for betting on themselves. Pius wants to test free agency and finally make some money. Hard to trade someone if their plan is to go to free agency...oh wait...seth jones...NM

Suter walking is him seeing the painting on the wall. He’s not getting top 6 over dach and Toews. He played well with Kane and Cat then kinda disappeared on the third line. Rather see Suter go and have money to overpay for a Jones, Dach, Kubalik, Murphy, Debrincat contracts

Also Alex Nylander will be the reason this team burns when he gets paid 6 million according to the Jones potential calculator

Honestly it’s kind of a crying shame considering his underlying numbers and what he was able to do with Kane this season. I’m still not convinced toews will be fully ready this year as is, and if so, we gave away a proven commodity. Plus, Dach still isn’t a good enough center as is. Canada didn’t even trust him as a center on their wjc team pre injury.

Let’s hope Suter is with Chicago. I do think Suter has some padded numbers playing on Kane’s line but he was an effective center for Kane which Kane really hasn’t had in years
