I’m impartial in terms of buying out Jones (there are benefits to doing so and not doing so).

But if you don’t, I would just bury him and sign a cheap backup. Not sure if I can handle another .896 season.

The only one who is even considered moveable is Brent Burns on retained salary, to somewhere like Dallas, or screw it, Arizona.

It’s not even on Jones, I know for a fact if he was backup for a team with a proven starter and a change of scenery, he’d be putting up good, not great, numbers.

I like the idea of keeping Jones, making him battle for a spot with Hill, Melnichuyk and a low cost vet option brought in as insurance.
Best case senario Jones plays decent 2.90 GAA and 903% backing up Hill or
worst case he sucks again and we buy him out next year with only 2 years left not 3 and use his cap savings to resign Ferraro and Knyzhov.

And we never won another D-zone face off again...
