For like the kajillionth time Schmidt isn't waiving for Winnipeg, apparently the Jets have tried to acquire him a few times and he's said no everytime, this horse is dead.

I like the signings (except for Pettersson because it feels a bit unrealistic) of getting some decent RHD. Schmidt trade wouldn't work with Winnipeg since I think Winnipeg is looking for RHDs as well. But the balance seems a bit better.

And on another defensive front, the #NHLJets have/had been trying to make a deal for Nate Schmidt but the latter will not waive his modified no-trade clause despite, what I have been told, is several attempts by the Jets.

In case you missed it according to a Jets beat reporter, Schmidt still isn't going to waive for Winnipeg.
