Houston would make a great expansion franchise.

Comparable trade to me was the Staal trade last year from NYR to DET. NYR were desperate and only gave up a 2 so tidy business by ARZ getting a 2 (albeit one a couple years away) and a former 2nd that already has played in the A

And an even greater relocation market. With the success of teams like Tampa, Florida and Dallas, Houston’s market is at an all time high, plus they have the chance at either Wright or Bedard or maybe even both.

Francis is so dumb. He couldve already done what Armstrong is now doing.

Houston is gonna have a great prospect pool.

Yandle wasn’t a mistake that was the only good contract Tallon ever signed in Florida

Arizona... taking on all the bad contracts but they are only 1 year long. After this season they will have a stockpile of picks and all the bad contracts will be off the books.

Maybe they are trying to stockpile talent to lure Matthews back to Arizona.

Arizona gets 2 seconds and possibly a 3rd to take on 2 years of Andrew Ladd.

Arizona gets essentially 2 seconds to take on 1 year of Anton Stralman.

Both Stralman and Ladd have the same cap hit.

Stralman can still play NHL hockey while Ladd can not.

This is not fair to the Florida Panthers.

I voted for the Arizona Coyotes smile

A 2nd is a fair price.

Only Dumbas would pay a 1st to dump 6M.

Great haul for Arizona to eat Stralman's cap. They get a solid likely future NHLer in Kolyachonok and a 2nd round pick. I believe this is the first 2024 draft pick that we've seen moved so far too.

For some reason, in recent years, these cap dump trades have been done where a team trades a player with a contract they want to move + a pick for a lower pick ... it's kind of weird that this keeps happening, because usually the team getting rid of the contract would get an AHLer in return, or they just trade the player with the contract they want to move + a top prospect for a low pick, just to make it look like they weren't just dumping a contract lol.

Maybe that's not why they used to do it like that, but it's kinda what I assumed.

Huge W for FLA clearing out necessary cap space for their new talent. Strålman has underperformed, to put it mildly, and had little value for the Panthers.

Good work by the Yotes to keep the picks and prospects rolling in while they hit the reset button.

All around fair deal, but FLA is crushing it this summer!
