Thoughts? This is probably the best group I could put together. Don't focus too much on the specific returns for the trades.

Not a single one of those pieces, Remotely entices us to move Tyler Bertuzzi to Toronto.

First, read the caption. Second, how much are you expecting to get for him? Red Wings fans seem to have outrageous expectations towards a Bertuzzi trade.

First off he's not on the market, secondly Yzerman has already said that Bertuzzi will command the same return as the Mantha trade. Engvall is a 4th line center/winger Liljegren is a bottom pairingRLD and we already have tons of those in our system. Yeah like i said it's a bunch of meh and Yzerman would easily decline this offer.

I hadn't heard anything about an Anthony Mantha level return so my bad. Engvall is a bottom 6 forward, Liljegren is a projected 2nd pair defensman and fits your timeline, Abramov is a projected middle 6 forward. This package probably isn't enough but as I said, don't focus too much on the specific package. It could be a first instead of a second, it could be Amirov instead of Liljegren, I don't know.

But Detroit doesn't have to trade Bertuzzi and most likely they won't be trading him. At his post-draft press conference Yzerman said singing Bertuzzi long term is the next priority.

Other then 4C our bottom 6 is pretty much set. If we don't resign Glendening then Yzerman will probably give Chase Pearson a shot at 4C. And Liljegren isn't a need as RD is our organization and strength and LD is getting up there as well. Mantha returned Vrana plus cap dump Panik and a 1st and 2nd round pick so Yzerman will want close to the same for Bertuzzi.

That's kind of optimistic to expect to get the same for Bertuzzi as Mantha did. If that's the case then he won't be going anywhere.

No, what's optimistic is thinking your GM can call our GM about a player he doesn't want to trade and that you covet and then talking him into whatever 4th liners you offer. Bertuzzi's more valuable than Kapanen and look what Dubas got for him.

I never proposed this trade. Im just being realistic in telling you that Bertuzzi won't get a Mantha return.
