Let me be real.

The cap is being kept flat artificially. If they didn't, it would have plunged. the conventional wisdom is that the 2021-2022, 2022-2023, and 2023-2024 seasons will have a flat cap. Maybe an increase of $1m in one of the years. Even if Seattle's additional revenue injects money into the system, it will likely not be enough to recover to a fully healthy league. Given the uncertainty around Covid (especially in Canada), I don't think you can bet on 100% capacity in stadiums (and therefore gate revenue) anytime soon.

Reality check for many GMs I'm sure, agree with a lot of what you have here, but I think Freddy is heading south, just my 2 cents.

I certainly wouldn't be giving Freddie that contract. No there isn't cap to sign Reilly. Other players especially the RFAs could should expect more $$$$. Reilly...teams pay for offensive stats, and Leafs (or no team) shouldn't be overpay for Reilly.
