Schmidt does not make sense for Boston.

Wen need an LD1 and a big physical penalty killer. He is neither.

He plays much better on the right side, night and day difference, and we don’t need him there.

His defense has regressed terribly the last 2 years and was only average to begin with.

He’s a 25-30 point d man, below average defensively, and not physical. We have 2 of them already making less than him combined.

His cap hit and term are a detriment.

He’s a terrible fit.

Ya, but not from the Bruins org itself. Writers and analysts speculating is not actual interest.

There was an article in The Hockey Writers saying a Debrusk for Schmidt trade makes sense for both teams. It doesn’t, but that was his opinion not something that was on the table.

I’m sure Boston has sniffed around him to see what a deal would look like, just as they have done with everyone that is available. It’s called due diligence.
