Description
There's some wiggle room, but you need to include a blue chip piece. And while you have a ton of nice pieces, you don't have that many blue chips. Fox, Miller, Lafreniere, Shesterkin - who am I missing? The only person I'd be unwilling to move on that team is Fox. Losing Miller sucks, but you're stacked at LHD, and Lundqvist and Chytil are the price to pay to keep Lafreniere.

You're getting Jack freaking Eichel. Once he's cleared medically this is a no brainer - and yes, obviously you will get a chance to do that before a trade is official.

We won’t even add Schneider as per drury so this is extremely far from doable

This is an absolute no. If Eichel was 100% healthy, Id give some consideration to Miller, Chytil, 1st as the base of the deal.

That's OK. There's just no deal then

Obviously if he's 100% healthy. That is the only conversation worth having on this site. The trade doesn't happen from either side if they don't agree on that.

That said, we're down to figuring out the last piece. If we add something on our side can Lundkvist stay involved? Or who are you ok replacing him with?

Ya I’m fine with that. The thing is we still have the best offer of prospects to give so while all these other teams are kicking tires we will be the last team standing with what you will consider an underpayment

You may end up being right. But if Chytil ends up being the best piece coming back (and that's generally the case in Rangers posts), Adams should be fired immediately

I think Adams is looking for forward pieces if he was to trade Jack. Strome + blue chip forward piece + 2022 1st + another good prospect is probably in the range of value. Honestly Laf is probably the player Adams would target. Whether or not a trade can be worked out with him coming to Buffalo is another question

Well Chytil is solid and him and Middlestadt would be the 2C/3Cs unless they both can jump to proper 2Cs. Strome is likely involved who is a 2C but could be your 1C and extended or even flipped for picks. You’d get our 1st which would be 20-32(lots of quality come in that range and it’s a deep draft) and then it’s a matter of added prospects or picks to that. On the surface it looks underwhelming for sure but it’s a lot of solid pieces. Which all the picks and prospects from this draft, moving other players and next 2 years of picks. It’s unreal what you will have

Honestly a trade involving Laf would be a no go for me. There was a lot of hype around Laf before his draft, and while his rookie season was a bit underwealming it was far from the performance of Kakko during his rookie season. The question becomes what Lafs ceilling is going to be and how much more value Eichel has. And Laf is under team control for at least 7 more years, while 2 of them are on an ELC cap hit. While Eichel gets undervalued in a lot of trade proposals, I believe the same applies for Lafreniere and therefore I would never include him. We would have to give up way more than just him and I´m just not comfortable with it

Those are good points. I didn't think about flipping Strome. I'm just not sure Chytil fits the bill of a stud prospect like Rossi/Zegras/Drysdale/Byfield/Miller. We'll have to wait and see when Jack's health leaks.

So, circling back to your original point I think worst case we end up trading him to the Rangers for that kind of deal. They'd get a lot of pieces, but not getting a stud is worst case scenario
