Fleury

Created by: ForsbergForVezina
Team: 2021-22 Chicago Blackhawks
Initial Creation Date: Jul. 27, 2021
Published: Jul. 27, 2021
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
The Suter situation is odd, but I like Gaudette and I guess we've still got Strome. Maybe Barratt and/or Morrison will make the jump next year too.

The Fleury trade feels too good to be true. Gotta think he retires

I think Chicago is gonna flip him to PIT so they can get more out of him, that's why they traded nothing for him. Idk just a thought

I'm not at all, we kinda have to make the playoffs this year and Fleury is a guy who could help get us there. But if this trade isn't something he wanted and retirement is n the table, its not hard to see him potentially never playing for us

In one offseason Chicago gets Fleury and Jones. A 1 goalie and a 1dman. Chicago making the moves necessary to be competitive if the trades work out.

This is an interesting scenario. The return wouldn't be significant, since we wouldn't have ton of leverage if Fleury isn't going to play for us. Might have to retain a lot and at that point, I'm not sure if its worth it

Petterson (or Jarry) + Bjorkqvist + 2nd for Fleury 3 mil retained.

Would prefer Jarry to Pettersson, but that's something I'd do for sure lol, but why would the Pens? Or why not make that deal directly with Vegas sans the retention?

Stay positive, remember Fleury’s agent antics in the playoffs. MAF will probably stay in Chicago and see how it goes.

Because vegas didnt want to retain and wanted to get rid of cap. Pens were going hard on Fleury but vegas didnt want to have anything to do with retension.

Except Chicago was on his no trade list. So that automatically is sketchy.

Maybe they traded him to CHI because they knew that the hawks would be able to retain? Idk I think something is comming

    This.

I just think there’s no chance fleury wants anything to do with Chicago. He wants a chance to win. Pittsburgh may not be close either, but he knows the organization.

Well considering Fleury wasn't even told about this move (allegedly) I don't know if that's the case. It would make sense given other moves (Jones) but who knows.

Yeah. Maybe they told him but he still wants to talk with his family anyway?
