Why all these massive returns for fleury? And don’t you think vegas would have traded him to pitt instead if they could have fetched that much for him?

A third pairing defenseman and inconsistent goaltender is a massive return? With the condensed off-season, it seems as if Vegas traded him to get cap space in time for the beginning of FA tomorrow. They are also rumored to be in on Eichel. I don’t think the Pens knew he was available. Seems like a rushed moved considering Fleury himself found out via Twitter. This is a situation to monitor.

A report just came out by the athletic saying Foley blocked a deal that sent him to pitt last year. That might be why? All speculation tho

No, the best return for Vegas was clearing 7 mill and not taking on any new contracts. Now they can go after a top end center without hesitation. Chicago is in a spot to retain and receive compensation, or to switch out contracts, like Petts and Jarry for Fleury.

Again, the pens could have just made the trade with vegas and acquired fleury if the pens were going to pay that much. The pens could have traded Pettersson and Zucker and used that compensation to pay for fleury.

Again, they have been trying to trade those two and haven't been able to do so. It isn't that easy to move cap right now. If Pettersson could have been traded prior to free agency Ron would have done so. That way he could go out and get who he wants. You act like it is so easy to move 9.5 in cap right now.

I can’t imagine 7 million is easier to move than 4 million and 5.5 million 🤷‍♂️. And how do you know what GMRH has been doing? Are you stalking him in his office. Literally no real trade rumors involving those 2 players outside of fans that need whipping boys wanting to trade them because they don’t actually watch and understand hockey lol

The athletic has reported through multiple writers, including LeBrun, Rossi, Yohe, and TSN guys have all said that Ron has been trying to move both of those players as well as bring in a veteran goalie. But yah, I'm stalking him. Clown

They write about what THEY THINK is happening. Not what actually is happening. None of those people had any idea they were trying to trade McCann until it happened and all of them, except maybe Yohe believed Tanev would be among those protected at the expansion draft. Clown
