I’m not big on using both retention slots in this trade, but it works for both sides.

This trade looks fine for this year, but I’d be worried about taking on MP’s contract for that long. He would need to be a strong 2nd pairing guy for us, and even then it could make the cap tight once the raises kick in for guys like Dach and Kubalik.

Maybe itd be worth it to trade MAF to OTT considering Murray has never been the same without Fleury.

It honestly depends on what people think those raises look like. Kuba, so long as he maintains quality scoring, should get 5-6 possibly. Knowing stan, could be 7-8. However, Dach is the weird one. As it stands, he shouldn’t be getting anything above 3. But, given his status as the “talisman” of the future, Stan’s probably gonna overpay the hell out of him. Essentially, we gotta read between the lines on a situation like this one. Logic almost never takes over.

There's no reason for the Pens to do this. Blackhawks have no leverage at all, if anything the Blackhawks should be sending a 2nd with Fluery to Pittsburgh.

Pens don't want him, he doesn't want to play in Chicago. Pretty self-explanatory.

Wow I didn't know that the fans wanting him meant that he was automatically joining the Pens.

It's almost like Pens fans on this site, and the actual front office are two separate things.

it's almost like you don't work in their front office and can't definitivly say they don't want him in that case

Just heard from a reliable source that the #Pens are not looking to acquire Marc-Andre Fleury. Not part of their plans at the moment. Carry on.

But go on.
