He's worth 7 million right now, might not be in 5-6 years but that's when the Avs window is closing anyway. Glad they kept the captain.

They kept it from getting too rich. Good for them. I'm still highly suspicious he won't age well given his style of play but he's their leader and it's a fair aav today. Good deal

AAV is fine. Its good value for the first half of the contract but could end up ugly for the last couple years. This takes him to age 36

Not often i vote YES emphatically on a $7mil x8 contract...but the Avs need him, almost as much as they need Makar and MacKinnon. Hopefully they havent f#^ked up their goaltending.
