Description

Here we ice an actual 3rd pairing that is heavy and can play in the defensive zone. Are they strong offensively? No. Are they glittering analytically? No. But Myers and Hughes are good together in the offensive zone and OEL and Marino can play in all situations.

All the signings leave us with room to add Jaden Schwartz who is a great playoff performer. We take a run at doing the thing.

I messed with the line combos but Miller taking faceoffs with Pod and Dickenson would probably be the best 3rd line in the league. The 2nd line is all goals and ferocity and the top line is all skill and finesse. Everyone can work hard and play.

Can we not do this? Jk it’s not too bad but I don’t like the idea of trading away Rathbone without seeing what he can do.

Pens decline. If they were rebuilding, then I could see them trading Marino for a package of picks/prospects but not now

heard burky and hextall weren't as hot on him and decided they'd listen to offers to clear cap. this is a pretty huge offer

Weird…I can’t find that anywhere. Especially since they are already short on RHD as it is. I think someone just made that up. The only dmen that are rumored to be traded for cap space is one of Pettersson/Matheson, and then Zucker as a forward to trade for cap space.

I didn’t say you got the value wrong. The reason why the pens wouldn’t do it is because the pens aren’t rebuilding yet. The pens aren’t going to just start randomly rebuilding while crosby, Malkin, and Letang are still here.
