top 10 protection would be a huge mistake(in an ANA trade) from buffalo IMO. should do what they have to do to avoid that.

I think it would be the only thing to hold back the deal. Maybe top 5 protected is better. As long as Zegras is in the deal it's all good tbh.

You're probably right, but any protection feels like they're losing the trade tbh

Which is why Anaheim going after Zegras makes zero sense. Because it's still guaranteed to be a top 10 pick.

Zegras is untouchable and if they rumored ask from Vegas is true the best prospect you get out of ANA is Brayden Tracey

Krebs, Smith, Hague, 1st, the ANA equivalent to that is Tracey, Rakell, Mahura and a lottery protected first

Agreed. Plus, if you take zegras our and push the pick to 23, theres a better chance that adams is just accumulating picks for the guy that replaces him.

It has to be for a potential 1st line center as a minimum, picks and roster players can be an after thought, but if the Sabres don't get the gem at center, no deal can be made for Eichel and he can suffer in silence with the Sabres (or actually be part of the solution).
