That's a high AAV, but this free agent frenzy has been awful, so many overpaid players

They won’t be going anywhere with Grandlund yet they’re somehow keeping him around

Steep AAV but at least they managed to keep the term low.

Hefty money for Granlund. I don't love this deal for the Preds.

Im ok with the deal, Granlund can bring a lot and he had no competition on the market.

But in Nashville as a 3C? Hell no. What is Poile doing?

I have no idea what most of GMs thinking with a lot of overpayment in a FLAT CAP SITUATION. It seems like they're thinking that will be a 10M cap raise next season to compensate.

Welcome back, Granny!

Points aren't everything in his game. He's the most trusted forward, plays in every situation and is reliable and consistent. I like this.

Price doesn't bother me as much as the term. Had it been 2 or 3 years, this wouldn't look as bad.

For me its good signing. 5 milj on top 6 player is not a lot and he is great two-way force. He was leading ice time per forwards last season (in NSH) and what other team has ice time leader signed in 5 milj or less? On Granny game, its not about points, its his two-way game, but sametime he is regular 40-60 point player. He is important in PP and PK. Team pay more on Johansen and Duchene. Granny contract will not come to be problem. In his last seasons he probably is under payed player.

62 points in 130 games in Smashville. He's a one-dimensional player, too. This contract is beyond awful. Should've been in the $3M AAV range.

What were they thinking on this one. I thought he'd make 4M or less for sure.

I’d like some analytics nerd to show me how bad player he actually is. To my understanding he’s a big part of them getting to the playoffs.

Do the GMs think the cap is going up to $90 million next year? What's going on?
