What in the actual ever-loving ....

I've been pretty supportive of Blake, but WHAT IS HE THINKING with this. I'd argue the KOVI contract was better than this! HOLY SMOKES I'm angry right now.

THE DUDE HAD 4 TOTAL POINTS IN 22 PLAYOFF GAMES. FOUR!!!! THE KINGS NEED SCORING, NOT ANOTHER SELKE GUY.

AHHHHHHHH

I don’t like the term, but this was better than the other forwards out there. I would say another Selke candidate is very welcome as Kopitar won’t be as taxed in his own zone, you can shelter Villardi in a more reasonable 3C role, and our bottom of the league rated defense is significantly improved. The scoring may not improve but we won’t have nearly as many ridiculous goals surrendered immediately after face offs!

This is a bad take. This helps kopitar so much, I don’t think you realize that. It’s not all about points

We can agree to disagree, friend. At SOME point it has to be about points. We have plenty of players where "it's not all about points" as is. It's why the Kings have been absolutely terrible in most offensive categories for the past decade. Add on to that the contract is 1-2mil too much for 2-3 years too long. I can't get behind it.

What's done is done, though, and I'm not the GM. I'll root for him, obviously. I just think the contract is really going to come back and bite the Kings in the future.

Yes the contract will suck later, but Danault at least is always good when he is on the ice. Not an offensive player, but the rest is excellent. But I am happy Bergevin let him walk. I agree with you on the part for the points, at one point you need to be able to score some goals to get that type of contract
