Description
Signing Danault might make one of the Kings’ you centers (or two) now available. I haven’t taken the time to examine LA’s cap situation…
Wild fans…please save your “there is now way the Wild are trading Kaprizov after waiting for him to come over for 100 years crap! No one is untouchable if a GM is truly doing their job. With that said, I realize this is never gonna happen.

I don’t disagree with your points in the trade proposals Guerin has a detailed plan on how to navigate the 2-; year cap crunches. I’m sure that means zuccarello going when his nmc goes to m-ntc. And dumba wil be shortly behind because the team won’t be able to afford his next contract and that will account for the 12m in additional cap, moving out the older guys and ushering in the next crop of o’rourke and Addison. On defense and rossi and boldy on offense.

I can totally respect the idea of trading while value is at a high so that in 4 years once the cap crunch ends, the team will be younger - more talented overall and all coming into their primes simultaneously and the team wil be able to afford everyone.

It fits perfectly with how GMGB does things. Young players for nothing, signs old guys, and destroyed the cap. Chia is better than this joke of a GM.

Casual. Guerin has never really lost a trade. He has signed two old guys: one is our 1st goalie Talbot who carried us in playoffs and the other is Goligoski. He also hasn't destroyed the cap. That was done by 1) Chuck Fletcher 2) Paul Fenton and 3) Corona. You really don't know what you are talking about.

MarJo/Staal; Staal at least got a 3rd +5th at the TDL, MarJo was worthless. Kunin/junk. Donato/pick; a cheap, speedy, scoring FWD sure would be nice to have last year and now. Just today Menell for nothing. He's made the team worse, by far over what it would have been if he left it alone. For a team that should be in win now mode trading away young NHL players for picks is a lost trade.

He won the Zucker and Pateryn/Cole trades.

Staal-trade was a lose-lose. MarJo didn't work, neither did Staal. Donato for a 3rd is a win, honestly. Donato is a bum and wasn't tendered a QU by the Sharks. A decent Kunin for his replacement in Bonino and a prospect in Khusnutdinov is a dub. Menell-trade was to give him a chance somewhere else, you know, to achieve his dream.

This team is much better than the one Fenton left behind

Fenton had a competitive team (killed by awful goalies) without Kaprizov and wasn't in cap hell. Whatever this mess is GMBG created isn't competitive without Kaprizov and is in cap hell.

The Spurgeon contract pisses me off. I’ve taken tons of flak on other platforms for voicing that, but I’m with you on that being a piss poor signing. His trade value was astronomical, but we opted for the overpay and threw a NMC bow on top.

I’d happily dump Zucc and Dumba next year as well. I get that the FA pool wasn’t great this year, but what a brutal state for this franchise to be in. Two premiere players that we can’t seem to sign, and sure as **** can’t surround with talent.

I’m also in the hating the Spurgeon contract club! In fact, I called the contract, strike two against Guerin. Strike one was being stupid enough to take the job!

I’m curious how people would respond to a trade along the lines of kaprizov for hischier, a younger star center on a not inflated contract who would be entering his prime at the cap crunch ending that we could surround with high quality pieces. Him rossi and ek as a 1-2-3 potential. I’m sure both sides would lose it as a fan base but something tells me that would be a good move for both sides. Idk just thinking outside the box

Teams deep in a rebuild don't trade blue-chip prospects (much less two of them at once) for a single good player in his prime.
Fiala is a good hockey player, but if Seider and Edvinsson come close to their ceiling, they will be much more impactful than him individually.
