REIGNITE THE RANGERS KINGS TRADES

Created by: Shakabakes
Team: 2021-22 New York Rangers
Initial Creation Date: Jul. 28, 2021
Published: Jul. 28, 2021
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Following the Kings very peculiar signing of Danault (despite the C depth in their system), they now have a log jam.

Kopitar and Danault up top. Athanasiou as a stop gap. Lizotte still around.

They will keep 2 or 3 of their main Prospects, but can't fit everyone.

What trade works (D for C) to acquire some young talent and avoid the disastrous Eichel trade?

You’re right, it would be good to trade all of your prospects for better prospects….

Byfield will stick at center. Vilardi and Turcotte will move to RW and LW, respectively. Madden might become expendable, but that's it.

I'd imagine the Kings would look to trade one of their center prospects, but trading all of them? Woof, there would be a hell of a lot of backlash for that.

I mean could the Rangers and Kings find a deal for a D prospect for C prospect swap? Sure. But the Rangers have nothing to offer that brings back Byfield outside of Laffy. And none of them bring back Turcotte either.

Yeah, I just threw them all in there as conversation pieces.

Vilardi and Kupari would be the 2 realistic targets.

Now that the Kings are done bringing in Danault and Arvidsson, they’re done with any talk of trading any of these prospects. They’ll let most of them develop another season in Ontario. I also think there won’t be an issue with Villardi any longer now that he can develop in a more sheltered role. We’ll see if that changes at the trade deadline.

Yeah no. And it’s funny how you threw in byfield and lafrenier wasn’t even involved

Yeah, I just randomly threw some big names out. Vilardi and Kupari are the only realistic options.
