While this would be amazing, I think he’s gonna end up on Vegas

Hogberg’s not worth more than league min, I’d rather have just about anyone else lol. Whether we get Eichel or not I would like to take a flier on Kase, we could use a RW depth guy with scoring upside in the bottom six.

They replaced Fleury’s cap hit with Martinez and Dadonov, whereas Calgary still has a little wiggle room as long as Monahan goes the other way

That’s true, but Vegas has the most to offer without compromising the team

I just chose a cheap goalie, Dubnyk also works.

Not interested in Kase at all, hes had 8 concussions in like 5 years

They would have to cut 10mil worth of salary, I would say that compromises the team pretty heavily (at least 2 ~5mil forwards contracts going out, which seems unlikely given they just bright in another one).

Looks good (for this season) but a few observations

Don't see getting Vali at a league minimum this year.

Back up is truly frightening

How do we extend JG / MT / AM / JV next year? Pretty much guarantees losing JG for nothing at the end of the season unless we move one of those 4 before the TDL

Vegas is the most stacked team in the NHL, they will still remain cup contenders even if they lose two top 6 forwards if they get Eichel in return

Doubt Monahan returns that based on the Reinhart/Buch trades.

Vali doesnt have mich grounds for negotiations, the year he had was pretty mediocre. I gave him his QO, dont see him getting much more right now.
Hall just signed for 6M and Landy for 7, Gaudreau's gonna have a hard time bargaining more than 8. Tkachuk will obviously need his raise but I think the team files for Arbitration to avoid the QO there.ange eill definitely need a raise, I think with Zadorov's money and Lucic being easier to move (may retire as well) next year cap space can open up.

The goalie situation can be anyone really, just not someone expensive

Monahan is CLEARLY coming off an injury, there are a lot more teams looking for top 6 centers right now than wingers. Supply and Demand

We’ll if “supply & demand” is your argument….
How many Top5-ish centers are available (Eichel) ?
And how many teams could really use him (20ish) ?

Monahan had been rumored on trade discussions for a while now for u guys

Can’t see Buffalo having interest
Get what u can for Monahan in a separate deal….
then add more to your proposal for Eichel

There are a lot of factors, Eichel is expensive in both cap and acquisition. Monahan is not. There is a market for Eichel, Im not arguing that. If 20 teams could afford him they would be in on him. Im also not saying 20 teams are interested in Monahan but there are teams searching for an affordable top 6 center. Boston, Columbus, and Ottawa come to mind.

Never said Buffalo was interested in him, it would be a 3-way deal though because Calgary would be screwed if the moved Monahan and then lost the Eichel bid.

An example would be
Calgary gets Eichel
Boston gets Monahan
Buffalo gets the above package + DeBrusk + Moore + 1st + Vaak/Beecher from Boston.

Boston pays a bit more for Buffalo to take back cap

I don’t think there’s a lot of teams interested in a guy coming off his WORST season at 6.4mil
That’s hardly “affordable” imo

And i HATE that Boston package, but i get your point
Just don’t really agree with the premise

Yet look what Josh Anderson returned last year. Monahan played injured for 34/50 games
