Bowman L. Don't acquire Connolly or Johnson and you have enough cap space.

Nice one. Really hoped he might sign in SJ but I am very pleased with Bonino.

This guy might well be worth a first rounder before this contract is up.

I'm saying this because Detroit should probably still flip him unless he goes from good player to superstar. You pick up good players at the end of rebuilds, not at this stage.

Great signing regardless.

More expensive than I was expecting but still love this signing for DET. We were badly in need of help down the middle and Suter should fill that role nicely.

Stevie just doesn't take L's.

Now for the Guelph Storm reunion line: Suter at center with Bert and Fabbri on the wing.

This sign has potential to be the STEAL of this FA. Suter has a great upside. Another great job by Yzerman.

Yes I am aware of that. But it was a multi year deal carrying over to right now when we don't have cap space.

You just brought in 9 million dollars in Tyler Johnson and Jake McCabe. Surely you could afford his QO knowing Suter would only get around 3-4mil instead of losing a promising young player for nothing. Savvy move by Yzerman, snapping up all these high upside youngsters (first Nedeljkovic now Suter)

I’ve only ever seen him play against the Wings, he obviously lit us up, but is he worth that much? Honest question for those who have followed him.

Worth the risk for Detroit. Not worth the price for the Hawks when his numbers were inflated by playing with Kane and Debrincat.

Suter is a difficult player to evaluate because he played almost exclusively with Kane and Debrincat last year due to injuries. He's a talented player no doubt and a worthwhile risk for Detroit to take on. After a 30 goal season Kubalik signed for $3.7mm last year, Strome with a 50 point season to his name signed for $3mm, Suter should have come in under $3mm for the Hawks. With Reichel, Hagel, Nylander, Borgstrom and Gaudette, the Hawks have plenty of younger players with similar upside.

No he is not worth quite that much. 2 million would make more sense.
