I legitimately worry about any bruins fan that’s happy about this.

This is an absolute disaster.

Team has zero cap flexibility. Left side is still weak, and apparently will be for three years. Way too much money tied up in the bottom six, and the goaltending situation is vastly inferior.

The bruins were a second round exit team, and used all their cap space to get worse.

They are better than last year, but I agree with the cap flexibility tho, next year will be big money year for Mcavoy who will ask for 9m minimum, ullmark is a bit of a odd pick but it could be a steal if he’s good, foligno to me is too expensive 3.5M for 1 and 3M for 2 would have been great, and on the lhd side yeah I don’t like it either, Reilly is a ok but forbot I hate it, but the problem was that the lhd market was expensive and we saw it, now with all the deals made Debrusk will likely be traded unless a miracle happen and we can moove Coyle

Bruins are the same team with better 3rd and 4th lines assuming DeBrusk is moved. (I'm fine with this and any trade with a 1st back). Forbert>Lauzon and I think Clifton can be effective as a 3rd pair RD. The only change in this team is at goalie but if they can roll their lines better, they are better. How are they worse? Cap space is rough, yes, but that's only assuming they dont make any more moves. Spoken like someone who only appreciates big name signings.

Barring a situation where ullmark elevates his game to a level no one could ever reasonably expect, there’s no good outcome to his signing.
1. He is what he is, swayman doesn’t pan out, tuukka never recovers, and the bruins have mediocre goaltending.
2. Swayman pans out, ullmark is a super expensive backup.
3. Tuukka returns and is the guy he’s always been, ullmark is a super expensive backup, and swayman is blocked.

Option three is the most likely.
Can’t have a super expensive backup if you’ve got a super expensive bottom six and expensive bottom pair d men.

Worse goaltending, currently no number 2 center with pennies to sign one, and a better, but much more expensive bottom six.

That’s not winning anything.

Ullmark is not rask I agree but rask won’t play that much so he will sign a 1 year maybe, and swagman is to sign in 2 years, after if he’s good bridge him for 2 years, as long as your 2 goalies don’t cost over 10-11m you are good, rask is injury prone and don’t mind retiring too, so I feel he won’t ask for a long ass contract just for the money,

So the goaltending is worse…..there ya go. That alone is going to offset bottom six additions.

I mean you can’t always have better and ullmark could be really good

When you have a ton of cap space, and oodles of options, you can definitely get better.
The bruins had both of those things, and they managed to get worse, while losing their flexibility. Piss poor effort.

Debrusk isn’t netting a first when his value is this low. I could see Canes looking into that but he’d probably garner a third coming back and drop the third coming our way.
