With trading Moore do we have enough to sign David Krejci. And how close are these lines if we don’t sign him for opening day?

FWD Lines w/ Krejci *assuming DeBrusk is moved for cap reasons*

Marchy - Bergy - Pasta
Hall - Krejci - Smith
Folingo - Haula - Coyle
Nosek - Freddy - Lazar/Wags

Lines w/ out Krejci

Marchy - Bergy - Pasta
Hall - Folingo/Coyle/Haula - Smith
DeBrusk - Haula/Folingo/Coyle - Folingo/Coyle
Nosek - Freddy - Lazar/Wags

It'll be the typical musical chairs of forwards if Krejci doesnt resign. They will try Haula, Folingo, Coyle at 2C and pray to god that something sticks between the 2nd and 3rd line combinations.

Don't sleep on Studnicka. His issue last year was he wasn't strong enough and so far this off-season they say he's put on 10lb of muscle. By camp he could be up to about 15lb of muscle, which would make a threat to push someone out as he's got a good amount of offensive skill and can play on the PK

Your saying Studnicka could play at 2C if DK does not sign for whatever reason but what if DK does resign then would Studnicka crack the roster or just get more playing time in Providence?

Been waiting for Studnicka, won't believe it till I see it at this point. Gunna be 23 this season, huge year for him to make a jump, if he cant this year I dont have the confidence that he'll ever make the jump. Also seeing how aggressive they were today doesnt give really any ounce of hope that he'll be ready. If he were I dont think they are as active in the winger market today. Ik you follow the organizational depth more than I do so you definitely have more knowledge on Stud than me, but I cant see any reason to have hope for him to make the leap this year.

He just finished his 2nd year of pro hockey and this past year played RW despite playing center (outside of playing for Canada) all the way back thru juniors. He's not a winger, he's a center. The team was so desperate for RW last year that they asked studs to give it a try. When studs first turned pro they were clear he was a center and that if he made the team it'd be as a center... but then 180'd it because they were desperate (same reason they asked jdb to try RW).

The skill & iq are there it's the strength that they've asked him to work on this offseason.

2C? No, although among the C's not Bergy he has the best passing skills and speed to play with Hall. If DK re-signs they need to clear cap space which could mean JDB is out. That allows Haula or Foligno to LW and I wouldnt lock Freddy into a spot either.

Understandable, I just hate this waiting game. Been hearing the kids name for years and still haven't seen anything to get excited about. Except his first NHL goal that he took right off the kisser lol. Maybe its because I grew up seeing Marchy, Krejci, Bergy, Seguin, Hamilton, Kessel all come in and have nearly immediate impacts. Now am I using the wrong comparisons because the pedigree of some of those players I mentioned were of higher potential when drafted? Probably. But just hearing over and over again about this kid and not seeing anything really productive (even if he's undersized) it can get easy to chalk him up as just another prospect. Hopefully I'm wrong here and Stud becomes what we all have been hoping for!

Marchand was a 4th liner and played 113 AHL games. Studnicka has 71 AHL games played. Thru age 21 Marchand had 20 NHL games and 1 assist. Studs thru 21 has 22 NHL games with 1G/3A.

Kessel & Seguin were lottery picks, andSeguin was nothing special his rookie year with 22pt in 74gp.

Detroit have no use for Moore. If you want us to take him off your hands you'll have to make it two 2nds or a 1st or a 2nd + Lauko.
