Description

Fitz absolutely killed it today in free agency signing Dougie Hamilton and Jonathan Bernier to big deals. Bernier would be a good backup option to Blackwood. And Dougie Hamilton is a big #1 defensemen the Devils needed. Fitz is making smart moves to make the team better

2 years ... good for him. He deserved a solid contract. Happy for him. I would have been happy to have him back, but best if NJ plays one of the younger guys (Siegenthaler/Bahl) next to Subban to see what they have.

I agree with the first part, which is why I prefer a guy like Kessel more

If we could get him for cheap, that would be great for the team

Maybe. Im just not much of a fan for NJ's current style of play. His skating has regressed too much for my taste & will likely continue to regress (maybe precipitously), but I understand why others like him. Where do you play him? He won't keep up with Hughes, Bratt, McLeod, Wood, Nico etc. Is he just a PP specialist?

Idk my friend, just not my cup of tea, but I understand why many feel otherwise. I'd be much happier if they pull off that Saad signing instead... but Avs/Canes tough competition there. Can you imagine Saad-JB-Hamilton all in one signing period. Different team right out of the gate ... now if only the Captain can stay healthy.
