I am unsure how I feel about losing a first for this, but the Avs needed a goalie... I will take it

I think the Yotes win this one. They had the leverage that Colorado needed a goalie after Grubauer left to go to Seattle, and got a really good haul. I like Timmins a lot and think he'll be on the main roster this season, the first is for 2022 which looks like a great class, and a conditional third on top of it. Arizona has been running this tank very well and continues to do so here.

Avs overpaid but Kuemper is a very good goalie when healthy. If he doesnt get injured and the Avs go far then I can live with this but I do wish it was a 1st+Helleson instead. This leaves a hole on COLs D core too which isnt ideal

Avs overpaid because they were in panic mode. Simple as that. Arizona definitely won here imo. Kuemper is still going to be great with the avs.

This is a trade you make for Alex Nedeljkovic, not Darcy Kuemper.

I find it funny that Carolina only got a 3rd round pick for Nedeljkovic because Bernier decided to go play for the Devils.

Joe Sakic didn't even bother to ask for lottery protection on the 1st round pick.

And he gives up a blue-chip prospect.

And he gives up a 3rd round pick if the Avs win the Cup.

This is inexcusable for Colorado.

I voted for the Arizona Coyotes smile

Blue chip prospect? WAT. I love me some timmins but hes not blue chip. Lotto protection doesnt matter. I do agree this is still a big overpay and im not bery happy about this trade.

This is a pretty terrible trade by the Aves. Goalies don't have a lot of trade value. Ned got a 3rd Lehner got a 2nd. I honestly dont know the last goalie that got a 1st a good prospect and conditional 3rd.

I knew you were gonna massively overpay for a goalie Colorado, this is just, yikes, better pray he doesn’t get injured or else you are in some serious trouble

Sakic either needs to get a reality check/get slapped by the avs front office or get fired for letting gru go and WAY overpaying for kuemper. Also if something happens to the avs and somehow they don’t make the playoffs in 2022 the coyotes could have 1-2 picks in the 2022 lottery (idk if they have their pick or others) which is a really good class.

Freddy got a 1st and 2nd from the leafs (Steel and Comtois)
Lehner (and the corpse of David Legwand) to Buffalo got the sens a 1st

Colorado had no leverage whatsoever. Arizona did really well here in the return.

Well, it seems like a hit a HUGE HOME RUN predicting what's coming for Colorado goalie situation. And it's even worse than I thought. Colorado get FLEECED here. A huge W for Arizona.
