The Jets might have interest, but I think Dallas would need to retain some. I can't see the Jets spending that much on a backup.

I figured as much. Winnipeg would be taking on roughly $2.5M in cap space compared to what they currently have. Dallas wouldn't be able to retain a ton, but shouldn't have any issues retaining a little bit of the contract.

Management in Winnipeg is already committed to Comrie as the backup, as hellebuyck wanted that. So as of now they likely aren’t interested, but a month into the season, if Comrie is struggling they will likely call up berdin to see if he fits and then look for a backup. It all comes down to how the Jets use their cap space, and this move likely doesn’t fit into their plan. They have to sign Copp, pionk and Stanley, and fill out the bottom 6 with like 12 million in cap space.
