Salary Cap Mode: Basic

Description

According to multiple sources, the Devils are actively looking to add a top-6 center either through free agency (Saad or Tatar) or through trade. They are also looking to add at least one depth forward.

In this ACGM, I added two of each, which buys time for young players.

Tarasenko: According to The Atheltic's Jeremy Rutherford, Tarasenko's price is dropping.
Tatar: I'd strongly prefer Tatar over Saad, suits NJD style of hockey more.
Fisher: Similar player to Nate Bastian to play on BMW line (FMW, I guess).
Zajac: Who better to fill 3C until Mercer is ready. Leader, right-shot, wins face-offs.

Scratches - new depth guys, probably bound for AHL
Taxi - Rookies to expect in 2021-22

I like the Arizona trade

The Blues trade could work, but drop the salary retention

I would like Foote got a spot on the roster, maybe over Tatar

I wasn’t sure what “price dropping” meant on Tarasenko since it was hard to see what the price was to start. I took the commonly used Boqvist/2nd package, reduced a pick and added some retention. We could all be way off - in either direction.

Tarasenko is still a total mystery box to me.

Based on his exit interview I don't think Zajac is coming back. He said something along the lines of if you are over 26 it's hard to fit in with the Devils locker room.
