Rangers decline. We have no need for Holden after signing Nemeth and I think the Reeves ship has sailed since we signed a some face punchers yesterday.

Signing Nemeth should not have to prevent the Rangers in any way from adding depth at the trade deadline.

When Vegas went up against Colorado in the playoffs, Holden got the better of Nemeth as a 3rd LD.

Also, Holden has a lengthier playoff resume than Nemeth, so there's that.

The best year that Holden had in his NHL career was with the Rangers.

The Rangers might be fighting for that last playoff spot towards the end of the season.

So, they will need all the help they can get.

As for Reaves, you can never have too many face-punchers when needing to take on that big, bad Tom Wilson smile

The Rangers wanted to get tougher to play against which is why they added Nemeth over someone like Holden who is more of an offensive defensiveman. Nemeth was also targeted because they wanted a mentor and someone Swedish to help Lundkvist with the transition to NA. Agree that some of Holden's best years were with the Rangers.

Tinordi was signed to be the depth defensman who can go in when we need an enforcer type and he has history with Wilson. I'm not sure the Rangers have a spot for Reeves to play unless they make a move for Eichel.

People also forget that when the Tom Wilson situation occurred, while not tough guys, Trouba, Lindgren and Kreider all were out. Not saying they are as tough or physical as Wilson but they would have stepped in.

In my post, I valued Nick Holden at a 3rd round pick and Ryan Reaves at a 5th round pick.

Not the other way around.

It seems Chris Drury didn't see it that way.

At least you're not going to be pushed around by Tom Wilson anymore smile

Yeah I would have also assumed a 5th for Reeves, maybe a 4th. Surprised that Strome wasn't included somehow since rumors were Vegas and Seattle were looking at him.

I agree that we wont be pushed around anymore.
