Its legit 1 year. Jarry was an all star and still was very good in the regular season. he had a hiccup in the playoffs, just like Fleury did every year from 2011-2015, and this year. This would be a jennings duo and a solid tandem for now and the future.

Hawks won't do that trade. You are asking for 1/2 retained on MAF, Jarry is not worth that. 1 for 1 your proposal makes sense, but not for the retention.

Here's the problem. PIT is looking to UPGRADE in net. Otherwise you wouldn't be looking to acquire MAF. That's simply a fact. We can't have a debate on that and have a serious discussion.

You say "It's legit 1 year" like that makes it ok. It's still $7M for Jarry and the Hawks aren't looking to make other teams better. That's not Stan's job. We currently have MAF and Lankinen. The Hawks are happy. OK, now insert that MAF might not want to play for the ok. OK, I get that and I'm willing to listen/negotiate/terminate, BUT $7M for Jarry is very bad and saying It's one year doesn't make it better, you're still asking the hawks to willingly choose to make their team worse. The Hawks have options. $7M can be used on Rask or heck go talk to Crawford and see if there's any desire there...OR do something completely different with the money. Get Tarasenko Or Dunn or legit anything.

The goaltending market is very slim, you're forgetting Jarry had a good regular season. Also Crawford is done and Rask is on the verge of retiring due to injuries/family issues.

But at no point are you agreeing that $7M is good for Jarry. Because it's not. I'd rather have the $7M and roll with Lankinen and Subban/signed vet. That $7M can go toward something else. It shouldn't be wasted on Jarry...which $7M for jarry is a waste to me.

It's 7M for only 1 season then 3.5 for the following. Yes you can save 7M but you will not find an upgrade on goaltending in the open market. Are you going to spend that on Dubnyk?

My man...you're literally trying to justify going out and choosing to do something bad because it's only bad for a little bit. The options are endless. Go get Tarasenko? Go send an offer sheet. Sign Dubnyk. Heck, play your cards right and you might be able to do all 3! You can't do any of them if you decide Jarry is worth $7M a year. He's not worth $7M a year. Don't do it.

Please don't try to convince anyone that signing Dubnyk or trading for an injured Tarasenko helps you better than the current vezina winner
