If ever there were a time to offersheet

Description
I don't think offersheets are the best routes to acquiring players...but they make good ACGM posts. If they were to be done, now is the time.

I don't think offersheets are likely or wise.

But this is more a point about timing. As long as St. Louis has Tarasenko on their roster, they have 3 good RFAs to sign and only $8 million to do it. Whoever is last to sign among Barbashev, Kryou, Thomas could get a bit exposed.
      2.
      NJD
        Foote
        TBL
Tampa Bay are still over the cap even after their moves thus far. At $2-3 million, they could still sign and be under the 110% threshold, but would force another move.

          NJD
            Kotkaniemi
            MTL
Until they can put Weber on LTIR and still have Kotkaniemi unsigned, they could also be exposed. Hoffman and Savard signings ate up Weber's AAV pretty quickly. They would likely have to move a piece out to match.

Teams are aloud to exceed the salary cap by 10% in the off-season so I think MTL would match anything less than 7M and then just wait to throw Weber on LTIR

Would they match a higher end offer though? Seemingly need the whole $13m with an aggressive OS.

                      *allowed
Yes, I mentioned the 110%. And they can off-season LTIR if they get the medicals. But the point was more about the timing. Now would be the time to OS.

Probably move Tarasenko first, so likely moot for Blues.
But whoever signs last could be exposed if they keep Tarasenko.

Probably move Tarasenko first, so likely moot for Blues.
But whoever signs last could be exposed if they keep Tarasenko.

They have like 8 mil in space even with Vladdy though

                      So maybe not.
I was thinking their RFAs would command ~ $11 million.

                      Thomas $4m
                      Kyrou $3m
                      Barbashev $3m
                      Sanford $1m

                      (That sort of thing)

I have been banging my drum for a Foote offersheet for months now and I aint gonna stop! It legitimately makes so much sense once you get over the idea of offersheets being taboo. Really really hope Fitz does it.

I bet Thomas will be sub-2. Barely played last year

I doubt Stanley signs a 3yr offer sheet that low, maybe he signs it if it was 2yrs. The 3yr offer sheet for Stanley is an easy match for the Jets. Instead of the team having him on a cheap 1-2 year bridge at $1.0-1.25 million, they'll have him on a slightly higher ticket at $1.36 and he should be outperforming that number in year 3. The Jets will still have him under team control when the three years are up. The risk of the offer sheet (or matching it) is that Stanley can't replicate his performance from this past shortened season in sheltered minutes.

The one to target with an offer sheet is Copp, that would be interesting to see.
