Sad to see Helmer go, but Colorado got a good bottom six piece here. He can kill penalties as a good defensive forward, and he's still got the speed to create some breakaways, except he won't score on them because of his stone hands. Good luck with the Avs, Helm!

100% agree, while me and plenty of other fans in Detroit will miss him, it's good to see him go to a place where he can win another cup. Best of luck, Helmer!

Dunno if he was worth more than a 2-way deal, but I think he's still a good add for the Avs.

Helm still has a few years left. Even at this age, he's still as fast as ever and is legitimately good at suppressing shots. He really does have no hands, but pair him with an accurate shooter and that 4th line will look pretty good.
