Description

Used the new contracts of Makar and Heiskanen as blueprints for the Hughes deal;
Makar = 6 x $9m
Heiskanen = 8 x $8.45m
Hughes = 7 x 8.5m
I put the AAV and term for Hughes in between the other two deals, allowing him to be a UFA at 28 (same as Makar).

Petey gets the 3 year bridge, making him the team's highest paid forward. Then he can become the team's highest paid player after Myers' contract is off the books, assuming he continues to develop into the player he's projected to be.

I think bridging Hughes may be better - an extra 3 years on top of the long term contract he will get after

Im more confident in Peety over Hughes. Hughes so far has not shown he can play defense, use that against him in getting his AAV down. Peety if he plays a full year watch out, he could be scoring 90-100pts a season and thats 10M starting money.
