MN has less than $3m in cap space and only 14 players signed for the 22-23 season.

Don’t think we “sell low” on Eichel
Rossi is a nice start
But after that, there just isn’t much to like about your proposal imo

I think it takes Rossi….
PLUS Boldy….
plus a couple more pieces

Wild aren't trading Ryan Hartman. He signed a very team friendly 3 years extension starting next season, and he's not available to be traded; neither is he being traded.
- wild are out in eichel trade

This is why MN (and everyone else) has moved on. Crazy asking prices for an expensive player that may or may not even play next season (or ever).

11 months before the full MNC kicks in, the clock is ticking.

When they realize they've waited for too long to make the trade, they'll be happy to get just one of Rossi or Boldy. And not too much of anything else. They already have just a few suitors because there aren't many teams with the assets, the cap space, and the burning need for Eichel. With his NMC, the amount of those teams will shrink by at least 50%. Teams like CBJ, and I'd also expect Minnesota, are out of the mix in a snap.

If we have to wait till he’s healthy to get good value for him,
then I’m fine with that.
And I’m not worried about the NMC kicking in at all either.
Let’s just say it kicks in, and he says he only wants to go to Boston- but we work out a trade we like with Minny.
We just go to him & say something like:
“Couldn’t work out a trade with Boston, but we did with the Wild. Do u wanna go to Minnesota? OR do u wanna stay here for the next four years?”
I think he’ll accept the trade at that point
And if he doesn’t…. then we get to keep an outstanding player
I’m cool with either result

The one thing I’m not ok with is “selling low” on him
And it doesn’t appear we are gonna do so thankfully

And it’s not a crazy asking price at all
He’s a top5-ish center in the league & a legit mvp candidate
You gotta pay up to get a guy like that
