I don't know how an injured Domi, and really an non performing Domi makes the Leafs better. That is a really bad trade for the Leafs. Leafs trade the better player and more for an upcoming UFA.shakes head

Dude for the last time, Yzerman isn't trading Tyler Bertuzzi for futures, And on a 4 year deal you're looking at closer to $5,000,000 per year to sign Bertuzzi not your low ball offer.

Nope.

The thing you Leafs fans can't seem to wrap your heads around, is the fact that we have no reason to move Bertuzzi, so someone would need to overpay to get him. Pay a king's ransom, or don't get him, that simple.

A first round pick, a 2nd round pick, and a 3rd liner isnt logical for a rebuilding team?

Um, you realize he played 9 games last year and has never eclipsed 50 points in a season (with average at best underlying numbers). If you don't think a 1st (Amriov), a 2nd and a 3rd liner (who scored at the same pace as Bertuzzi) in 2019-20 is enough then maybe and just maybe, Red Wings fans are just as delusional as us...

Why

Detroit does not have to trade Bertuzzi.

Bertuzzi have not asked for a trade.

Detroit have not put Bertuzzi on the block.

This is you trying to trade for a player Detroit doesn't want to lose.

I didn't realize players had to be on the trade block for them to be moved! Very informative

Only players that have to be traded, i.e. that under no circumstances can be kept on the team will be traded for scraps like you've offered.

If you're trying to pry a player away from a team that doesn't want to lose him you have to overpay, and do so massively if the team you're trading with don't have a replacement lined up for the spot turning vacant.

Your offer, as it stands, is the equivalent to Detroit offering you Namestnikov + Niederbach + a 2nd for Matthews.

I really didn't think I would have to spell it out like to a 4-year old.

How much clearer could I have been? Value is irrelevant. Overpay, or no trade.

Call me a leaf homer, fine. Idgaf.

You are absolutely delusional, and its boarder line scary that people like you think you can just dump on leaf fans without looking in the mirror first.
