Kämpf will definitely play 3C if you look at how the roster is constructed and how Keefe was coaching the team last year.

Kampf is definitely going to play 3C. Hes the defensive specialist that Keefe has wanted for 2 seasons now.

Even if Kempf doesn't play 3C...Certainly don't want the aging Henrique for three seasons at 3C either. More fascination with non playoff teams players.
When I see Kesler in a trade....I know the post can't be serious.

I like Kampf. I’ve traded for him in 4-5 ACGMs. I’m glad we got him. He’s just not a 3C. I think anyone who eats up what Dubas is saying at this point is a homer. You can’t go from not knowing who the guy is to thinking he’s the next Danault.

Not sure what you mean by “fascination”. I see a hole in the roster and for fun I tried to make a trade to fill it. I don’t think Henrique at 2.9 for 3 years is bad for a 3C at all. He’s 31. Also your take on the Kesler part of the trade… this is capfriendly. None of this is serious. I’m curious who you’d put at 3C though, and who you put on LW.

I’m over here waiting for Editor in Leaf to say he’s the next Danault and Bergeron put together and is better than half of the Stanley cup-winning Tampa Bay Lightning 🙄

I just trust a guys opinion who is actually in Hockey and worked under Dubas and not a guy who watches from his couch. Call me a homer but Kampf will be the checking line Center man. Whatever line you wanna call thst

Hey, that’s fair. IMO the 3rd line needs to be able to contribute scoring. You also can’t move him up to 2C should JT or AM get hurt. Checking line, yes. IMO that’s the 4th line, and he will face off against the top scoring line in our end. Regardless, we agree he’s going to be a defensive asset, and I think that link you shared was at least right about CHI making a mistake by not qualifying him. Hope I’m wrong and he surprises me TBH.

Agreed, the way this group is assembled currently is 4 super stars and league min players. I like Kerfoot a lot but not as 3C and if I had my way I’d like a different guy playing LW in the top six instead of him. But that’s what this group is, a top 6 and bottom 6.

Kampf on a checking line most likely with Mikheyev, possibly Joey Anderson if he has a good camp. Don’t see any scoring coming from them. But a good shutdown line.

Another line of Spezza Simmonds possibly Robertson to hopefully bring in some secondary scoring.

Again, for me, this is the worst group of fwds the Leafs have had. They legit need the rookies to step up and Bunting to perform really well.

The top 4, Dcore, and goaltending can carry this team, but it will be a dog fight to claim a playoff spot in the Atlantic.

Not to mention they need to figure out what the hell they are going to do with Rielly.

Fascination. Always seems like Leaf players aren't good enough but we have to overpay to bring other players in,
I'd keep Kerfoot at centre. If Kempf, Brooks or Semeyov can be 3rd or 4th line centres then Kerfoot could go to LW, Let's imagine Henqurie and Kerfoot are equal. You've traded two seconds, Liljegren and Mikheyev for one year of Hertl. I would rather have Mikheyev at LW, probably takinng Hyman.'s spot 5 on 5

Buddy, maybe you are a casual fan that only watched one team play, I personally watch all 31 teams play but focus more on the Leafs. I've seen him play and I know what he is capable of. Also every line is going to have a different objective. Kämpf line will neutralize the other team while they are on the ice while the other line will likely be more offensively focused.

I don't consider them equal. There's a small cap savings here, but also AH takes 1000 face-offs per season and has won 55% of them the last 2 seasons in a row. He hits more, has more of a scoring touch, and overall is a better center. I don't really have a problem with Kerfoot but if we're talking about who would be a better 3C it's Henrique.

Hes not going to be comparable to Danault. Danault is thought of so highly because before last season he was among the top 5on5 scorers in the league for the ice time he got and Kampf wont come within a football field of that. Kampf however will be the 3C because the Leafs will force him into that slot. Keefe has been asking for a defensive specialist to make a 3rd line out of now for 2 seasons and the Leafs dont have a lot of center depth to start with fighting for that position. Kerfoot will likely be pushed into a top 6 winger role and that only leaves Kampf for that spot.
