For the trade offer, it's not as crazy this year as it was a year ago.
Poehling has been dominant in the AHL and could become a solid NHLer.
And Dubois' value has decreased during the playoffs.

Anyone saying that Winnipeg refuses quickly has not thought it out very long.

In fact, seriously, as a Habs fan, I'm not even sure I'd do it if I was Bergevin.

Zero chance Winnipeg even thinks about it. They're not giving up on Dubois just a few months after acquiring him.

There is no incentive for the Jets to trade Dubois after a partial season, as his value is lower than when they acquired him. The Jets would be better off to have him to play a full 82 game season with Stastny, Ehlers and in front of the improved defence where his play and stats should improve. If after this season they want to trade him, his value will be much higher and will still be a RFA. That said, if his play rebounded to where it was with Columbus in the playoffs, they would extend him.
