    While I think MJ needs to play 871 together more (not as much as bylsma), and I hope to see lots of Malkin-Crosby-Kessel when we're losing in the third, this as a regular lineup is horrible. we go from having an above average center on each line to below average center on lines 2 and 4. Our wing depth is the best it's been in the crosby era why are we trying to play malkin there more now?

    Because Malkin's face off percentage is terrible. You practically can't put him in for a defensive end face off.

    Because Malkin's face off percentage is terrible. You practically can't put him in for a defensive end face off.
    Malkin isn't the guy you put out in a shutdown, must win faceoff situation, but he cannot play a whole season at wing. His offense suffers terribly when he isn't playing at center.
