Dumb.

Now the big trade has to be for a center. Can’t be for a LD anymore.

I'm sure this would be a challenge with the cap and recently signed UFAs, but if NSH retained $1.5-2M on Duchene and sent him with Ekholm, would you be interested?

This is where analytics can be a bit misleading. He's only played 22 NHL games. I am pretty sure it doesn't take into account his AHL time either or the D is wrong as he was one of the top PK'ers in the AHL and was just shy of a ppg. He led the AHL in SHG and would have had to have had about 890 shots to score 23g is 60 games and still only have 2% finishing.

I am not saying he is the answer. Although I have read he put on 20lbs of muscle which is exactly what he needed to do. Skill is there, he was just get outmuscled. 6'1" 170lb is slight. 6'1" 190lb is getting there.

I guess we'll see.

You are misreading the card, 2% finishing isn't shooting percentage, all of the numbers are percentiles among the league, my point is that Boston fans believing he is a good prospect, when he really isn't and hasn't proven at any level that he could be.

Being 1st in shots in the AHL with no goals isn't some grand feature.
.63p/gp isn't close to a point per game.

If he ends up as a 3rd line winger next year, that's a big success.

Maybe I wasn't clear. In the AHL he 49pts in 60games or .81ppg. What I am saying is this only appears to account for his NHL time. Which if you watched was sporadic at best. I wasn't saying his shooting % was 2%. What I was telling you was his finishing would be higher if it took his 19-20 AHL season. Almost assuredly his defense would be higher too. TOI as well as he was the #1 center in providence.

Again, this is where analytics fail a little. The Bruins tend to take their time with guys. They view him as a middle six Center. There was no room there. They would rather play in him providence as a 1c then spot him on wing or 4c. Also, I as mentioned if he really did put on some muscle, I could easily see a 15/35 Season from him as a 2C with Smith and Hall. He is already very defensively responsible which bodes well and he has produced offensively at every level.

Like I said, it looks like we will see. If not Beecher or Lysell don't seem too far away. Haula also put up 29g and 55pts as vegas' 2nd line center two years ago. I think a healthy Coyle has a bit more too. If they decide to use him as 2C, I could see him working well with Hall - a similar chemistry to when Johansen was here.

Coyle had his worst season last year and I have to believe it's injury related. I can't imagine either are fun to play through "Charlie Coyle recently underwent surgery to repair multiple knee injuries. ... Coyle's surgery was to repair an “avulsion fracture” in his left kneecap and a small tear in his patellar tendon".
